As a retired MD from Google, I had spent my career chasing innovation, but in the Daintree Rainforest, I found something far more valuableāwisdom. The Daintree is one of the oldest rainforests in the world, a place where time moves slowly, as if the very trees remember the dawn of creation. After years in the fast-paced world of tech, I realized that this jungle offered me a much-needed antidote to the relentless push of progress.
During my journey, I had the privilege of exploring the Daintree with a local Aboriginal guide who shared the spiritual significance of the forest. The ancient plants and towering trees seemed to hum with energy, and every step I took felt like walking through a living museum of Earthās early life. We visited cycads, some of which date back over 200 million years, and I marveled at how life had endured here, evolving in harmony with the land.
For me, this journey was a revelation: I had spent decades helping to create the future, but here, in the heart of the Daintree, I found peace in the past. The jungle didnāt need to innovate or evolveāit simply was, timeless and enduring.
